This course pairs ‘classic’ plays of the past with contemporary works to reassess our understanding of the Western dramatic heritage. The course is designed to acquaint the students with the different aspects of theater and drama. The students will be required to participate in play readings and performance, research into the history and context of the plays, and demonstrate ability to analyze play texts. Students will be evaluated and graded on their reading, dramaturgical, and analytical skills together with their performance in the midterm and final exams.
